Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 30, 2026
We made The Prairie Princess for parents, and we hold your trust the way we’d want a small business to hold ours. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect when you visit our site or write to us — and what we do (and don’t do) with it.
What we collect
Right now, while we’re getting ready to launch, the only personal information we collect is your email address — and only when you choose to give it to us. Specifically:
- Email capture across the site. The launch “Notify Me” form on the shop and product pages, the popup that appears after a few minutes of browsing, and the sticky banner at the bottom of the screen all share a single signup flow. Each submission posts to our
/api/subscribeendpoint and is stored in our launch-list database so we can email you when bows are available. - Product interest (optional). If you sign up from a product page, we also note which bow caught your eye — helps us tell you about the right color when launch day comes.
- Contact and wholesale inquiries. If you email us at our public address (for wholesale, customer questions, or anything else), we keep that correspondence so we can reply.
- Anonymous page-view data. When you load any page on this site, our server logs the path you visited, a timestamp, your browser’s user-agent, and your IP address. We use this to understand which pages people spend time on. We do not tie these logs to your email address or to any other identifier.
- Billing data at launch. Once bows are on sale, payment is handled directly by Stripe via their hosted payment links. Stripe collects your card details on their own page, under their own privacy policy. We do not see, store, or process your card number on our servers. We do receive a confirmation record (your email, the product you bought, and the amount) so we can send your order confirmation and fulfill the order.
How we use it
We use the email addresses on our launch list for one reason: to tell you when The Prairie Princess bows are for sale, and (once you’ve placed an order) to send your order confirmation and any shipping updates. We will never sell, rent, or trade your email address with anyone.
We use anonymous page-view data to understand which pages parents spend time on — not to identify you personally.
Third parties we work with
A small baby-products business doesn’t need a lot of outside help. The services that touch your data are:
Stripe (payment processing at launch)
When bows are on sale, you’ll click through to a Stripe-hosted payment link to check out. Stripe collects your payment details on their own page under their own privacy policy. We only ever receive the order summary they send back to us.
Email service
We send confirmation and launch emails through our hosted email service
(polsia.com/api/email/send) so we don’t have to run our own mail servers. Only the
email address and message content you gave us is sent — no other data.
Hosting and database
This site runs on Render, and the launch-list, order, and page-view data live in a managed Neon PostgreSQL database. Both providers store data on encrypted, access-controlled infrastructure. Page-view records (path + timestamp + IP) are stored in our own database — if you’d rather we didn’t keep a record of your visit, simply not visiting is the simplest way; the data is also deleted on a rolling basis as described below.
Data retention
- Launch-list emails. Kept until you unsubscribe, ask us to delete your record, or we wind down the list. You can unsubscribe from any email with one click.
- Order records. Kept for at least seven years so we can meet tax and accounting obligations. After that, we anonymize or delete them.
- Page-view records. Kept temporarily to understand traffic patterns, then deleted or aggregated so individuals can’t be re-identified.
- Email correspondence. Kept as long as it’s helpful for the conversation. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
Your choices
You’re in control. At any time, you can:
- Unsubscribe. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you’re off the list.
- Ask what we have. Email us and we’ll tell you what we’ve stored about you (typically just your email address and signup date).
- Ask us to delete or export your data. Just send us a note. We’ll action it within a few business days.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to this page — for example, adding a new third-party service or a new kind of data collection — we’ll update the date at the top and post a note on the homepage. The previous version will always be available on request.
